Overview of Unique Moves' Application Build Case Study

I recently had the opportunity to work with Unique Moves, a growing logistics company looking to streamline the way they managed bookings, drivers, and pickups/deliveries. My role focused on designing and building a custom Zoho Creator app that could handle everything from scheduling and route planning to driver assignment and Gift Aid integration for UK charities. By tailoring the system to their specific workflows, I helped replace a patchwork of manual processes with a single, efficient platform. One highlight of the project was developing an automated driver assignment feature that ensured jobs were matched to available drivers within the right organisation, saving significant time and reducing errors. This project was about giving Unique Moves a tool that not only supported their daily operations but also provided a foundation for scaling their services with confidence.

Strategy and Delivery

Our work with Unique Moves began with a clear goal: to create a single, efficient system that could manage bookings, drivers, and customer communication. The strategy focused on building a custom Zoho Creator app to replace time-consuming manual processes and scattered tools. Early on, we prioritised core features such as order management, scheduling, and driver assignment, ensuring the system would handle the company’s day-to-day logistics smoothly.

As the build progressed, we introduced additional layers of functionality. Automated driver assignment was developed to allocate jobs to available drivers within the right organisation, reducing scheduling errors and saving staff valuable time. We also added public-facing forms that allowed customers to place new orders directly, automatically linking them to the correct organisation based on location. Over time, the scope expanded further to include features like text message updates for customers, Gift Aid integration, and automated monthly reporting.

Key Results & Metrics

The new system delivered clear improvements for Unique Moves:
